Notes

A grey, windy and occasionally wet evening was not what you might expect for mid-August. Sadly Guildford did live up to expectations by putting our bowling to the sword (e.g. two sixes *into* the tennis courts, along with several others in different directions). To make matters worse we dropped a few catches (although most of them were very hard). Paul L, made a particularly impressive diving effort, only to get a severely bruised hand for his troubles. Our batting wasn't quite as poor, with the highlight being Mathieu quadrupling his highest ever score, with an innings that included a couple of boundaries. Despite a healthy helping of wides, we were never likely to challenge the required 10 runs an over. At least we had cake to console us!
