Another match in which we chose to bat first (it's becoming a habit) and even more remarkably won comfortably. We lent L&G a couple of players (Bernie and William Glasse) and they very sportingly gave everyone a bowl, which resulted in Carl hitting William's bowling to the boundary, but also William getting Jon stumped off a particularly loopy delivery. Doug and Paul were both run out whilst partnering Jon (who else?) but some good batting from Mark, Jon, Carl and Tim posted a challenging total. L&G's innings never really recovered from a slow start with wickets falling steadily. Jon made two outfield catches look very simple and David took an absolute blinder (diving left-handed at short mid-off to catch a well hit lofted drive). Bernie had the pleasure of defying our bowling attack when all his newfound team-mates were crumbling around him (scoring 17 unbeaten, which along with William's duck, I can't get into my averages program at present).
