Notes

A good game featuring the all-round skills of Mark and a debut appearance from (young) William Glasse. Our bowling was pretty good (highlights being Bernie's three wickets and Mark's brilliant final over) and our fielding was better than usual (5 catches held), but Toyota had rather too many players who could bat, so they posted a challenging total. Our run-chase started badly with the loss of three quick wickets including a spectactular slip catch. However Mark then demonstrated his ability to hit boundaries frequently and, before we knew it, we were barrelling along and ahead of the required rate. Unfortunately as Mark started to tire (giving blood earlier may not have been a good idea!) and wickets started to fall at the other end, our challenge fell away. So by the time Andy had run Mark out (at his request!), we needed 18 off 11 balls, which was too tough in the gathering gloom.
