Draw

Notes

Our first match against Toyota as well as breaking a string of 6 weeks without a match. The weather was damp and grey all day until 6pm when the sun came out and we played under (broken) blue sky. We batted first (a novelty) and posted a respectable 110 mainly thanks to Carl, Richard and Jon. Toyota's chase followed the pattern of our inning (slow start with early loss of wickets) followed by a steady building of pace. Our fielding was better than it often is with Carl demonstrating several methods of stumping (with and without use of the gloves), Paul F and Mark taking good catches and Paul G effecting a run-out from the deep. Unfortunately a few of their batsmen found it far easier to hit 6s than we did and both David and Andy suffered from a final over mauling. In the end Toyota scampered 9 runs from the last over and a draw was a fair result.
