Notes

Played at Glaxo-Smith-Kline's ground, which was (as usual) very damp under foot and had unmown grass. Combining this with a pitch with uneven bounce made scoring difficult! The only batsman to look in command was Paul F, who (along with Mr. E.X.Tras) helped raise the scoring rate to something respectable. Messers Gowers, Parker and Harris took advantage of conditions favouring slow bowling and did a very good job of running through Virgin's tail to ensure victory. Jon very sportingly refused to claim what most of us (including the batsman) thought was a very good low catch and Andy had great fun demolishing the stumps for various attempted (and some successful) run-outs and stumpings.
