ex-PRL Cricket Club Liability Statement
We are a "wandering" cricket side.
Our sole purpose is to facilitate, informal, "fun" cricket matches.
We own nothing other than some communal kit (bats, pads, gloves, balls etc.).
We play on hired grounds or on grounds provided by the opposition.
We don't have a formal management structure, but some players
volunteer to act as officers on an ad hoc basis.
These officers carry out their roles on a purely voluntary and "best
efforts" basis.
A small match fee is collected to cover the cost of ground hire and
the purchase of communal kit (mainly match balls).
Although we were formed from the old Philips (Redhill) Cricket Club,
we no longer have any formal connection with the company or its Sports
and Social Club.
Consequently we do not hold any form of club insurance.
Accidents occur during/at games of cricket, but we don't regard our
games as intrinsically hazardous.
As a club we accept no liability for any accidental loss, however it may occur.
All players must accept that in the event of an accident, they will
not hold the club or its officers liable.
Players participate entirely at their own risk and are free to make
their own insurance arrangements if they see fit.
Opposition teams accepting fixtures with us, are made aware of this
statement and should decline the fixture if they find our arrangements
unacceptable.
